Start with the operation
Map the people, constraints, signals and decisions before polishing the interface.
About Kelsey
Based in Kenya. Working across product strategy, interface systems and production software.
Building complete products
My work extends beyond interface design. I have designed complete products in Figma, developed backend and frontend systems, created Android applications, connected platforms through APIs and implemented payment gateways for real business workflows.
For Venus, I created the complete UI/UX experience and integrated an automated Pesapal payment flow for customers purchasing licences. For Carpool, I developed the backend, web frontend and Android application, while connecting the system to the Venus API for organisational vehicle data. For Gregs Veld Safaris, I designed and developed the entire travel website, implemented technical SEO and created a real-time multilingual browsing experience.
I'm most useful where a product is complicated underneath but needs to feel obvious on the surface.
My work moves between Figma and production code, but the goal stays the same: understand the operation, make the important choices legible, and build an experience people can rely on. That has led me into fleet command centres, internal ride systems, safari discovery, payment journeys and public programme websites.
Design and engineering are not separate lanes in my process. Understanding APIs, spatial data, mobile constraints and backend behaviour makes the interface decisions stronger. In the other direction, product thinking helps the technical system stay connected to a real user need.
Designing for real operations
I often work with products where a delayed decision, unclear state or broken handoff has consequences beyond the screen.
Working philosophy
Map the people, constraints, signals and decisions before polishing the interface.
Build for local infrastructure, familiar behaviours and the devices people actually use.
Keep design and implementation close so important intent survives all the way to production.

Beyond the screen
Outside work, I play competitive basketball—an ongoing lesson in pace, awareness, communication and making the next useful move.
Technology
Design systems, backend services, native Android, fleet APIs, payments and search-ready web delivery—chosen around the real product workflow.
Start something useful
I'm open to selected UI/UX, frontend and full-stack opportunities.
